1) New
Gorilla Backup Utility
I am extremely pleased to announce that the
new Gorilla®
Backup Utility is available for your immediate
downloading pleasure.
Although most of you know the importance of
backing up, and we have always recommended it
strongly, it has been less than convenient for
some of you. We hope this new utility tips the
balance.
You
can basically set it and forget it. Back up
to a flash drive, network drive, or CD. Naturally
keep your most recent weekly backup OFF LOCATION,
as in a safe deposit box or other safe place.
Here's
what you need, all of it available through the
same Software Update page (click
here).

3) Revised CO Daily Task Checklist that instructs
the CO to do a daily and weekly backup.

2) Re-tooling
Pre-Retiree Drip
The "Pre-Retiree Drip Campaign" is now designed
to get important information about retirement
issues to your clients 6 times a year AND make
sure they keep the information in a convenient
location that has your name on it.
To
do that, the "Pre-Retiree Drip Campaign First
Letter" now sends 4 file folders as follows:
Retirement Planning—This is an "expanda-folder."
Investment Planning
Lifestyle Planning
Legacy Planning
(See
the next article for how to prepare these.)
For
the most part, the pre-retiree drip letters
will contain documents from government sources.
These are copyright free AND almost certain
to fly through compliance.
Note to Canadian Gorillas:
I have spent some time searching Canadian government
archives and have failed so far to discover
copyright-free sources of retirement planning
information. If you know of such a site, please
email to billgood@billgood.com.
So
the strategy for Pre-Retiree Drip becomes: Send
valuable information from government sources
on investment, lifestyle, and legacy to position
the Advisor as the person to turn to when time
comes to retire.

3) Retirement

4) Letter of the Week:
Campaign-Pre Retirement-Pre Retiree-First
Letter
I have re-written the Pre-Retiree
First Letter so the entire campaign
will be easier to get through Compliance.
Already Running Pre-Retirement
IF you have already launched the Pre-Retiree
Campaigns, you need to download both Letters
of the Week from the Letters Library®,
one for the pre-retirees you're dripping
on and one for your newly added CGs. If
you send them in that order—monthly
letter first—your newly added people
won't get two sets of folders.
So if you've sent your
Initial Letter recently, you may want
to hold off on the following process until
after you've also sent your next Monthly
Letter.
1. Click
here to add the revised first Letter
(Campaign-Pre_Ret-Pre_Retiree-First_Letter.one)
to your download list.
2. Click
here to add the special Drip Letter
(Campaign-Pre_Ret-Folder_Drip.one)
to your download list. Download both Letters.
3. In the Browser, highlight the folder
Letters/C & P Campaigns/Pre-Retirement
(containing only Pre-Retiree-First
Letter). Through Letter,
Install Letter, find and click
Campaign-Pre_Ret-Pre_Retiree-First_Letter.one,
then <Ctrl+click> Campaign-Pre_Ret-Folder_Drip.one.
Click Open.
4. In the Campaign Manager, open your
Pre-Retiree Drip Campaign. On
the Campaign Steps tab, scroll down to
the FIRST Mass Mail step, beginning "PRINT/SEND:
The Pre-Retiree-First Letter today …"
Double-click it.
5. Click the first button beside the Letter
field. Pre-Retiree-First Letter
is highlighted. Immediately above it,
double-click Campaign-Pre_Ret-Pre_Retiree-First_Letter.
Save the step.
6. Scroll down to the SECOND Mass Mail
step, beginning "PRINT/SEND: Your NEW
Letter …" Double-click it. Click
the first button beside the Letter field.
Find Campaign-Pre_Ret-Folder_Drip
(under Letters/C & P Campaigns/Pre-Retirement)
and double-click it. Save the step.
7. Through Campaigns, Campaign
Editor, choose File,
Open, and double-click Pre-Retirement
Drip Campaign.
8. In the Initial Message track,
double-click the MASS MAIL step and repeat
step 5 above. Close the Editor and answer
Yes to saving.
The
special Drip version requires a bit of
editing so it can serve as the cover letter
for a different article. (Obviously, you
do not resend the "10 Ways …"
article you already sent with your old
Pre_Retiree-First_Letter.)
Not
Running It Yet
If you have not launched
the campaign, the new initial letter is
now part of it and will automatically
install when you follow the instructions
in the Campaign Order and launch the campaign.
(Click
here for the Campaign, or click
here for just the new letter.)
Everybody
Be sure to read the P.S. on your Letter(s)
of the Week. Realize that your offer there
means you'll need to start sending out
an email version of your Drip Letters
for this Campaign, including one or more
links, as well as a printed version. It's
a little more work, but not only will
it make your computer-savvy people happier
and save some paper, your computerphobes
will also be happier having their version
disfigured with fewer and/or less prominent
URLs that they'll never use anyway.

6) Tip of the Week
Nobody
likes to be constantly hounded by their Advisor
to give them referrals. If you knew that every
time you spoke with your Advisor, they were
going to solicit a referral from you, you would
try to avoid contact with them.
As
an Advisor, don't solicit referrals; promote
referrals! In order to gain more referrals,
you need to create Clients who actively promote
you.
The six rules for creating Clients who actively
promote you are:
1. Begin now to implement the full Client-Retention
formula.
2. Demonstrate through targeted messaging
campaigns that you consistently make recommendations
in line with their goals and objectives.
3. Establish a professional service team and
give them full responsibility for filling
all service requests promptly, accurately,
and in a courteous manner.
4. Keep the pipeline full by probing for additional
funds or selling opportunities on a daily
basis.
5. At the end of every selling cycle, remind
your Clients that you accept referrals .
6. Use Etiquette Messages as often as possible—make
Mom proud!

Have a great week!

Bill
