1) Letter of the Week

Product-Investment-Exceptional Opportunity

I reviewed the "Call Me" letters and decided it's time for some spring investment fever.

So I wrote "Product-Investment-Exceptional Opportunity."

Now, obviously you need to have an exceptional opportunity in mind.

And yes, I know I will be berated by the "the plan is ALL" folks. But frankly, I know too well that even your financial planning clients that you talk to daily have something squirreled away somewhere.

This letter will flush a bunch of it out.

I would use the Instant Message Campaign to send it out first by email, then fax, then letter to those who do not have electronic forms of communication available.

3) Anniversary Procedures Released

I am delighted to announce that "The Anniversary Procedures" are released and available for immediate download.

You will receive the following:

Five "stay out of the doghouse" reminders. These are sent to husbands about three weeks before the anniversary.

Thirteen "Anniversary Toasts." There is a separate toast for the 1st and then for each five-year "milestone" anniversary--5th, 10th, etc. out to the 60th anniversary.

Two Office Procedures, one to manage the reminders and another to manage the anniversaries.

One set of documentation.

If your CO can read well enough to follow a recipe (add 1 tbs. of sugar, etc.), you shouldn’t need a class. But if we find an inordinate number of questions, we will schedule a series of WebEx™ classes.

I'm really indebted to Gorilla Robert Clarke for the Anniversary Procedures. He kept ragging on me to come up with some more "stay out of the doghouse" letters. He kept telling me that his clients LOVED the original doghouse letter.

So we took it on, but not just the reminders which will generate lots of laughs.

What I went after--and you will have to tell me whether I nailed it--are "toasts" that touch the heart deeply enough to be read aloud at a family gathering to celebrate a milestone anniversary.

You should plan on printing the anniversary letters at the same time you print birthday letters. The same type of process--Office Procedure--runs both.


4) Most Useful List Development Website

One of the technology newsletters I subscribe to is the Kim Kommando "Cool Site of the Day."

Last week, one of her cool sites was the site for the National Association of Secretaries of State.

Hmm. Cool? Doesn't sound cool.

It is COOL!

Let's say you see a big splashy store open up in your neck of the woods. Or you see a new delivery truck. Or you read that some company has just bought an additional 40 acres of land.

You just pop over to the NASS site, select your state and then poke around a little bit.

In Utah I found what I wanted, the link to "Business Entity Search."

I checked Ohio and found "Business Name Search" under Quick Links. There you can look up companies to find out who owns them. Or if you want to see if someone is a registered principal at a business, you can look them up as individuals.

Here’s the site: http://www.nass.org/busreg/corpreg.html.

Check it out for your state. And be alert to new things going on in your neighborhood.


5) Tip of the Week

Quick Way to Enter Opportunities

If you are looking for a quick way to add in an Opportunity for Clients and Prospects, create a Speedbutton.

You can do this by going to Tools> Speedbuttons. Create a new Speedbutton, add the Opportunity (which is done in the Objective window), add a Note, and schedule an Action for a follow-up call. This will speed the process for adding Opportunities.

Don't forget to update the "Last Review" field whenever you do an Opportunity review.
